Join me at the 2018 George Town Literary Festival

I'm honoured to have been asked to participate in this year's George Town Literary Festival.

I will be part of 'Conversations: Emerging Writers #1—On Privilege and Freedom to Write in and of Malaysia' moderated by Melizarani T. Selva and featuring celebrated Malaysian authors Hanna Alkaf, Ling Low, Sreedhevi Iyer, Ted Mahsun, and Zedeck Siew.

"It’s a path that is becoming more and more difficult for writers creating in English in Malaysia. Publishing spaces seem to be getting smaller and it is hard not to be discouraged by the lack of avenues. How do these writers deal with the pressures and expectations generated by publishers, editors, agents and markets? And how much are writers willing to sacrifice, to compromise, in the telling and representation of their stories?"

Admission is free.

Details of the event and the festival are available on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/events/284705952252150/
